This photo series is a diary of my life in Uganda. The lockdown was here for me two years before the coronavirus pandemic. After my husband and I went on a business trip to Africa, we had to leave our usual way of life behind. Having plunged into a completely different culture, it was difficult to me to accept the new reality and get used to new conditions.

At the same time those difficulties brought me inside myself. Here I embraced self-education and photography. After a while, I realized that life in Uganda was a turn in the right direction, where I became a changed woman and found someone whom I did encounter before – my true self.
